Originally posted missing, a report from a Private H Weedon recalled 'my mate Jones saw Kennedy buried by a shell in our trench on the Somme. I came along just as they got him out, he was already dead.' His mother queried this report. Buried at Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-d'Armentieres, France. Grave Reference VI. F. 42.
