Previously with Glasgow Royal Engineers as a Field Lineman.

Served in Lemnos from August 1915 - January 1916. Served in Egypt from January 1916 to August 1916, then in Palestine from Aug 1916. Was paid 4d a day. 

Suffered from Malaria while in Beirut 1919
