When Patrick McGowan was born on 15 January 1896, in Greenock, his father, James, was 21 and his mother, Ellen, was 20. He married Mary Telford on 28 April 1917. They had five children during their marriage. He died at 5 Kilmun Road, Greenock on 2 January 1971, at the age of 74

Served at Gallipoli. Suffered from dysentery, admitted to Canadian Stationary Hospital on Mudros
