Remembering those who fought in the Great War.

About Inverclyde’s Great War

To commemorate the centenary of the First World War, the McLean Museum held a special exhibition exploring Inverclyde’s contribution to WWI. The exhibition ran from Saturday 9th August until Saturday 18th October 2014 at the McLean Museum in Greenock.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the collection of 6,900 names – names that have never been listed before of the ex-servicemen from the towns and villages of Inverclyde. The names are also listed on the Memorials section of the website. We will be adding further details to individual memorials and highlighting individual stories on the website over the next few months.
