Son of James and Hessie. Married Christina Sutherland in Greenock on 10th June 1904. Christina died in 1945 aged 59

His address was c/o Sutherland, 3 Crescent Street and he worked as a railway carter for the Caledonian Railway Company.

Hugh Frizzel joined the 3/5th Argyll's in August 1915 and served with them till December 1916 when he was transferred to the 1/4th Royal Scots in Egypt/Palestine. He received a gun shot wound in the knee. He was then transferred to the Renfrew Fortress Royal Engineers.
