30 year old, Labourer, 27 Vennel, Greenock

Attested 27/8/14 with A & SH BEF 2/5/15 Attached to 1st Batt HLI Had served 10 years A &SH Records appear to have been lost. There is a lot of confusion with this casualty. There is no record of his death on Commonwealth War Graves. Scottish National War Memorial has his death as 16th May 1915 whereas the local newspaper has his death as 23rd June 1915.
