Son of James and Margaret Martin, 52 Welligton Street, Greenock. 

Enlisted 23rd October 1915. Left for Mediterranean Expeditionary Force per HT "Lake Michigan". Disembarked Alexandria 16th March 1916. Joined for duty at Kantara. Wounded in action 25th November 1917. Admitted for severe GSW to shoulder reported missing presumed drowned ex "Warilda"
