John Kirk Melville

SON OF MARY H. MELVILLE, OF 83, FINNART ST., GREENOCK Educated Greenock Academy, enlisted 4th August 1915 served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders, was wounded twice at High Wood in 1916, and died at number 36 Casualty Clearing Station April 1918 from wounds received in action at Neuve Eglise the same day. Buried in the military cemetery Poperinghe A comrade wrote ‘He was a brave soldier and a good chum, and the life of our company’ Fiona Sellars.
