John McKirdy

Died of Influenza/pleurisy. Death took place at 10 Newark Street. Wife Catherine. Their son John Neil McKirdy was killed in action on 21st January 1943 near Tripoli. John senior was a joiner with the Clyde Shipbuilding Company

Had served with the battalion since 1914 and had fought at Gallipoli. He was seriously injured and transferred home to Stobhill Hospital. He was then discharged.  He died 1919 as a result of his service at Gallipoli
