Born in Kintyre. Clerk with W Graham & Co, Woodland Raod, Glasgow. Son of John D Fletcher, Strathmore, Kilmacolm.

Had joined the Queens Own Glasgow Yeomary in 1911. #1845 Served at Gallipoli 10/6/15 but was hospitalised at Malta with Dysentery. Discharged at end of service on 29/2/1916. Received commission in 9th HLI. Died of wounds received in action. Attached 17th Battalion.
