His parents (John and Elizabeth Young) were listed as his Next of Kin. They lived at 47 Ann Street. Sometime of 24 Sidwell Street, Exeter. Family lived in Elgin and Falkirk. Father died and mother went to live in Elgin by 1920

Attested 18th August 1914. 

Died in Alexandria Hospital of Typhus.
